Hail. i am from north fucking vodka-lands, and curious to know what local members of this board can say about Russia? Did anyone taste russian vodka? What can your say about metal scene of Russia? Death Metal? Black Metal?

Heres firstly Russia than all other countries....hahahahah
I think half of Russians dont know where montenegro is....

Actually it's a Serbian joke, Emir Kusturica uses it a lot in interviews. And yes, the vast majority of Russians do know where Chernogoria is hahahah

All in all, Russia has a killer metal scene that goes all the way back to the late 70s-early 80s

Lots of them. Let's see..In no particular order: Arkona (not that old), Merlin, Mortem, Manic Depression (death/trash), Mental Home (doomdeath) etc

To be fair and square, Russia has never been huge in the death metal department. I like old thrash bands such as Shah, Black Obelisk, Hellraiser (check out "We will bury you" if you can find it), early Korrozia Metalla, Kruiz, Master, etc

I respect only old Forest...the bands from Russia I like are Pseudogod (ex Groth,Bestial Demongoat),Gelida Obscuritas,Gehangter Jude,Christ Invertion and such shits...
I have listen once H.Bosch (checked out band becouse of name) but I dont like modern kinds of death metal just the old school shit.

im from russia as well (well, i dont live there anymore, but originally..)
i used to listen to a lot more russian metal a couple years ago, these days im not so much into metal anymore. but i still listen to tonns of soviet rock (kino, patriarchal'naya vystavka, krematoriy, nol', etc).

i used to be huge into the black/folk/ns/pagan stuff coming out of russia - temnozor', ashen light, severnye vrata, etc etc etc..
