It seems that these Aussies have reformed again!

888 TILL DEATH!!!!

No idea whether they'll be re-issuing the re-issue, or just playing new material. Hopefully their brains aren't too fukked wth all the 4"x 2" being bashed over their brains!

theres a Myspace shite as well if you've never heard of em.

The only band that can come close to thrashing out anything close to THE Magus. WE ARE DRUNK! 888 METAL!

(though does anyone know if Bestial Warlust have reformed as well?)

It's funny I thought about posting about this project there...
but I'm not sure if this is a comeback of tribute page,
coz NOMENCLATURE DIABLERIE is a project the guys of SAD EX did in the 80's! Didn't check the myspace yet.

ok...let us know your opinion
what you said about SAD EX isn't surprising, didn't they claim to be the originators of death in Australia? hehe

You might want to look at Slaughter Lord as well. They definitly were the first Death metal band in the land of Oz! Invictus have reissued their demos on CD (plus if you type 'Slaughter Lord' on Youtube, there are videos on there, with about 100 ozzy bangers on the stage!)

Though their history does get confusing around the '86-88 period (Supposedly members of Sad Ex were in the Slaughter Lord, and then Sandy joined Sad Ex, and Rev Kriss Hades would have been about 13 in '86..... Though Steve Hughes is now a Death metal Comedian!)

I thought SLAUGHTER LORD played thrash metal, or 'occult' thrash metal...?

I'm trying to find the split they did with Morbid Angel, but it's out of my price range

here's another Myspace page, if you can get the thing to work! (clicker on the Die by Power, fucking great!!!!!)

Well, what I remember of some songs years ago sounded like obscure thrash... But maybe the whole scene has gone much deeper in retro old schoolism, so classifications change a bit Wink

This might help clear things up a little.

Yes, Nomenclature Diablerie have reformed with the original line up plus the addition of a new bass player.

The line up is currently:

Sloth - Drums, Toneye - Vocals, Riff - Bass, Matt T Boomstyxx - guitar.

We will be recording an album with new tracks, and possibly re-recording the original 2 tracks from the 888 demo tape to be released some time in 2008, this will mark the bands 20th anniversary.

I can assure you that none of us have been hit by 2 x 4's nor are any of us are particularly brain fvkked. No more, or less than we were to begin with. If anyone would like to try and hit any of us (with the exception of Riff (she's divinely protected)) with a 2 x 4, please be our guest. Just don't spill our drinks, or mess up Sloths hair. Things may get nasty if that happens.

In regards to Nomenclature Diablerie being a side project of Sadistik Exekution, nothing could be further from the truth. We don't actually know why, but its a very common misconception. Maybe cos the only person in the band anyone had heard of was Sloth.

Nomenclature Diablerie was, and always will be, the brainchild of Matt T Boomstyxx who wrote all the lyrics and music for the band. Sloth played drums but thats the only connection that Nomenclature Diablerie has with Sadistik Execution, apart from being friends with them.

Incidentally, Sloth became the drummer of Nomenclature Diablerie after a conversation he and Matt had during a gig at St James Tavern (possibly a Massappeal gig). Matt told him about his Nomenclature Diablerie project and Sloth got excited. Sloth was already in Sadistik Exekution at the time, and had heard of the Nomenclature Diablerie project through Dave Slave. When he realised that Matt didn't have a drummer he offered his services. Sloth is, and will always be, the heaviest drummer in the world, so he seemed the obvious choice. Matt then asked his good mate Toneye to sing vocals one night after drinking way too much fruity lexia and other peoples drinks. Matt didn't know if Toneye could sing, and chances are Toneye didn't know that Toneye could sing. As luck would have it, he could.

They then rehearsed for about 3 months in 1988 and recorded the demo in November 1988, at the Loft. After hearing the demo at Sloths house, Riff (from Melbourne) decided to share it with the world. She financed, distributed and promoted the demo (alone), when it became apparent that the guys couldn't be arsed doing anything with it themselves, apart from playing it to their mates at parties. They didn't have many mates, so distribution was limited.

In regards to Slaughter Lord (or Laughter Sword) and Sadistik Exekution:

Sadistik Exekution are, and will always be the first Australian death metal band. Slaughter Lord were thrash metal. They even promoted themselves as the fastest thrash band in Australia.

Slaughter Lord released their demo a few months before Sad Ex got their act together, which is why many people believe Slaughter Lord were the pioneers of thrash metal (not death) in Australia. Its another common misconception. Despite what anyone says, you have to admit that Sad Ex were, in fact, the first 100% death metal band in Australia. No one sounded anything like them back then. Slaughter Lord didn't come close. Lets face it, what self respecting DEATH METAL band would do a cover of 4 Horsemen by Metallica? Don't get me wrong, Slaughter Lord were great, but not Death Metal. Death/Thrash at a stretch, but not DEATH.

Originally Sandy (Sasaan Vadani (possibly spelt incorrectly)) was the guitarist for Slaughter Lord. He left Slaughter Lord to join Sadistik Exekution because he wanted to play death metal not thrash. He was later replaced by Rev Kriss Hades. Rev Kriss Hades joined Sadistik Exekution (and moved to Sydney) in the early 90s, although he had rehearsed/played with Sadistik Exekution before he moved to Sydney to join them full time. Rev Kriss Hades is ancient, don't let his baby face fool you, he's older than Wayne Campbell (and less likely to poke himself in the eye wth a drumstick). There's evidence that Rev Kriss Hades may have written parts of the Old Testament, and may in fact be good mates with King Solomon and his 72 unbottled demons.

Apparently Steve Hughes (Heave Stews) and Anton Vasquez auditioned for Sad Ex, but they couldn't keep up the pace. Bless em for trying. Heave Stews got to play drums for a brief period with Sadistik Exekution after Sloth quit (again). For the record Sloth never quit Nomenclature Diablerie. Its possible that Nomenclature Diablerie is the only band he hasn't quit, but don't quote me on that.

Steve Hughes is just an ordinary comedian, nothing 'death metal' about it, really. Its good to see that people are still lining up and paying good money to point and laugh at him. Ah, we're just kidding, we love Steve, and he loves us.

Anyway, thanks for all the positive feedback on the 888 demo, it's much appreciated. It's cool to see that people still like it, after all this time.

Cheers,

Nomenclature Diablerie

PostSubject: Re: Nomenclature Diablerie   Fri 12 Oct - 10:06

ah, thanks, that clears a few things up!

I'll keep an eye open for the new albums etc .

Though one thing that's never been explained.... When Sloth left Sad Ex in the mid 90's, Rok always explained that it was because he'd become a born again Christian. Is this true, or is is talking shit?!? And is it true he converted after hearing Mortification's 'Noah was a Knower' for the first time??? But when he tried to join Mortification, they told him that he played too fast.....

And if Sloth did convert, maybe there are hundreds of unreleased Nomenclature demos devoted to Christ?!?

888 Jesus maybe?

cheers again!

Yes, thanx for all the infos!

I hope Sloth won't use too much echo for NOMENCLATURE records, because there's too much echo on the last SAD EX albums and so it's not very "clear" sounding... It sucks, because on older albums like "We're death..." it was easier to understand the cool playing, even if the production was quite deaf...

** News Flash **

Sloth has been sacked, officially, from Nomenclature Diablerie. He's too old, too slow and far too emo for us, and possibly even himself.

He decided emo sucked, and re-joined. It wouldn't be ND without Sloth Monkey.
