That's true.. With my little experience, all the letters send by "listeners" didn't have any flyers within... What do they do with the flyers that the editors or bands send to them ? Sad...

Spread flyers whitout any internet contact (mail or website) seems to be pretty crazy nowadays I guess...
I must to confess that I prefer the speed and the free access of the internet tool but written letters is cool, more feelings, more attention, maybe more "human"...

But if you write a letter, you should have something to say... Few years ago some distros wanted to seem so old school that they wrote long letters to peoples, but they didn't say a lot at the end... It wasn't better than Internet communication... Quantity > Quality

I think to run a label/ distro without Internet in 2010, an efficient way, you have to release someting super trendy (Might work with black metal), or to be a very efficient commercial/ marketing beast... At least in France.
Or you can release things limited to 50 or 100 copies, but it's not the same thing...

I already consider myself a mean old person, grey hairs or no... I once knew a girl who was 18 and getting a lot of greys right on top of her head, people thought she dyed it that way and she'd get pissed off when they commented.

I have a giant box full of flyers right now I am trying to get rid of, but most people contact me by email so I don't get rid of them often. Reminds me I need to make new flyers for my zine as well but i am lazy.

About the same for me. I always load my packages up with flyers. Usually 20 different ones per package.

Myspace is alternative for flyers today and 99, 99 people is thinkig that in this modern time someone will write letter, to be honest last letter I sent to Iapetos of Unholy Archangel before two years...

On the other hand, I was into metal before and after the internet, but not into internet until 2-3 years ago, I was a total caveman, I didn't know how it works or anything.
