The Punisher by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and the Punisher MAX were awesome.

Also Sin City is a great graphic novel.

I also like the old Spider Man stuff... and early Spawn.

Marvel stuffs?

I often read it when I was very young... But I'm not a fan...

Early SPAWN had some good graphics.

I think marvel is ways too concerned with quantity to make something interesting...

I'd better read something like this:

(Dave Mc Kean, the black orchid)

I don't like too much computer-colored comics... In 2010 many are done this way...

today marvel mostly release shit but they had great moments (and still have, for example the Punisher series I mentionned before).

I don't know much about underground comics as I don't read it a lot but for example I have read one called Walking Dead which is very cool. At least the first issue.

Is it Ran Xerox or Rax Xerox?
I've always been reminded of the Blasphemy frontman by that comic...

Most of the best artists / comics are French (if not, then probably Italian). Mobius, Pichard, Metal Hurlant, Iznogoud, Hilda.

It is RANX XEROX. I think it was to joke about the printer makers called RANK XEROX.

Metal Hurlant was a french magazine filled with comics in the beginning of the 80's. I have some copies, it was great!

Iznogoud... Are you serious? Ahah

Metal Hurlant seemed to have much better artists than the 'Heavy Metal' US version. Have you ever seen the Heavy Metal cartoon film? (most of the Heavy Metal music was very tame though. It was made around 1980, so it was mainly made up of soft rock.)

Sure, there's nothing wrong with a bit of Iznogoud Wink . It's better written than most of the UK comiks, which just came out as being very soft (all the Watchmen / V for Vendetta, Roy of the Rovers, the Topper type crap... Most UK comiks don't seem to have a market beyond children and nerds unfortunately)

my 2 cents : not fond of US comics, like only a few mangas (Dragon Ball worshipper here hehe, Akira was great too).

I love Franquin and Gotlib. Bilal and the guy who does Pascal Brutal is cool. I read mostly at the FNAC during my lunch breaks and can't remember the authors most of the time pirat

I also like Binet. Poupon La Peste and Les Bidochons !!!

The comic book HITLER = SS was pure awesomeness. It was done by two guys of Fluide Glacial and it was very brutal, obscene and morbid dark humor.

Also Gotlib is killer. Gai-Luron and Rubrique à Brac... Bougret and Charolles !!! Bon sang mais c'est bien sûr, hahahahahahahaha !!!!
