Glaukom Synod comes back with a brand new tape - Mechanical Throat Repulsion which is a one-sided c60.
9 tracks of hard hitting old school industrialcybercore!! if you like previous Glaukom Synod efforts, you will like this one. If you dont know who they are - GS is from France, has about a dozen releases out already over the last bunch of years on labels from all over the world. The sound is hard to describe (isnt it always?) but its definetely industrial with extreme metal overtones.

by the time you are release a dozen releases, and on numerous labels, you are established in our books haha.. especially if you last the better part of a decade!

Ok, when I hear about "established" it's about these french singers who sell quite a lot of records... But I see what you mean...

By the way, a few of the "labels" it was released on, is just me releasing it under another name (Powder sniffer, Under the average and these "funny" names)... Now I've chosen to keep "Visceral circuitry" because it's clearer...

i know what you mean with 'established' but the way i look at it, very few projects in the noise scene get to the point where they can move 1000 copies of a release easily (unless you are bastard noise or merzbow)..

i didnt know you did one-off label names.. i thought about it for before, but iunno just didnt get around to it i guess.
btw i like the name visceral circuitry. i think it fits what youve released on it so far quite well.

Now it depends what you mean by easily... Sells or trades, and what kind of trades... MERZBOW exists since a long time, were released by quite a lot of labels, and have quite some followers...

I printed 1000 covers for my new demo,
but in part because it's not much more expensive than 500... So I can give it away to metallers who order old school Death metal from me, maybe some will like it Ah Ah

Changing names every time is funny; I didn't consider it as a label it was just me releasing it, and very limited stuffs... But it's too messy and peoples don't understand anything at all..
"Visceral circuitry" was meant to be a Glaukom demo one year and a half ago, but it finished as a label name. Cool you like it!

yeah master+covers its fairly easy to move such a large number, but i rather meant actual orders for 1000 (500 people ordering one copy each, and a bunch of distros ordering done copies kind of deal).
i usually start off with 60-100 covers, and 15-20 done copies and print/dub more as the demand rises. that way i can keep the expenses down to maybe $40 each paycheque instead of spending $200 at once. where i print it doesnt matter if you print one page, or 2000, its all the same price.

Yes, in this case, at least 500 orders, you can say this is an established name...

SFM DISTRO now has copies of this tape available for $5. cheers

If I were to run a society, I would make sure not to employ you as accountant ("Comptable" in french)

and rightfully so...but think about it, you don't pay for a recording studio, you don't have to wait for a crappy label to spit out the royalties off the 1500 copies your album sold in 6 months, you don't tour europe in a van to play a shithole of a bar every night in front of 90 fans...

I sent more promos than I actually sold copies...
Most of the demos are circulating because I did trades, and often have to search for peoples who agree to trade... Sometimes I even send master + covers for free...
Most of the stuffs I receive in trade of GLAUKOM won't sell at all...

If it wasn't my music, I would have stopped releasing it a long time ago... It's much more complicated to release than Metal, and a lot of my contacts are peoples into metal and some are musically close minded, and more than 200 copies for something like "industrial/ electro/ noise whatever" demos is hard (Harsh noise demos usually make 50 or 100 copies... I'm not even sure more of the industrial electro bands really release a demo anymore)... Etc Etc Etc

Peace man, I know you're making no dough from GKS, was just joking, I should be the first to know you often give demos for free!Though I maintain that running a solo home studio project is nowhere near running a live band in terms of costs.I relate to the non-metal issue though. I either dunno who to send my stuff to, I'm not sure my old contacts are a) still around after 5 or 6 years and b) willing to review something that odd, though it's still rooted in death or thrash...

SFM Distro has no issues selling GS releases. We have sold quite a few over the years. More so then alot of other artists of the similar style as GS that we support/distribute.

Also tho since we sell CDRS for $2 a piece, this helps as we're basically selling for cost.

I ended up trading well over 450 copies of the GS SFM release, that was released in 2006 I think it was? Or 2007? Do you remember Gab what year? We still have a few covers left & on occasion I toss a free copy in with orders.
