VENOM-Metal black. New cd

Has anyone heard the new VENOM cd "Metal Black"?

If so, what are your thoughts on it? Is it the same ol VENOM or is it worse? I've been reading tons of mixed reviews about it but have yet to hear the damn thing!

from the song I heard, it's very well played, nothing like the old stuff. the production is clean but not so polished, pretty cool too, but the song itself wasn't great imo, in a way it reminded me of Sodom-style thrash, nothing ground breaking.

Judging by the name of the cd "Metal Black", one would assume that it was a rushed production in general.

yeah, Cronos says it's been recorded live, which is even more impressive regarding the final result, compared to their early stuff

what I fear is that it has also been written in a rush.

Would you recommend I buy it, or just get a burned copy of it?

1 song heard only once is not enough to give you a reliable opinion. but you should try to listen to it before buying. the entire record was available on streaming a few weeks ago but I don't remember where and does it still work, I dunno.

Sodom's Agent Orange eh, I have yet to hear this one as well. Same goes for the new Celtic Frost.

I used to think Agent Orange was Sodom's best effort, but that was before I heard the Mortal Way Of Live album...

what I like most on Agent Orange is definitely the production, but some songs are a bit repetitive. but it's still a german thrash must have imo.

as for the new CF, I read very mixed opinions about it.

Sodoms The mortal way of live is a good album from what I remember, but my favourite one is Obsessed By Cruelty.

Yeah, I'd like to hear the new CF but I dunno, kinda not that concerned as I have never really been that big of a fan of the band.

I've never seen SODOM live as well. They were in Toronto not that long ago but i'm not gonna pay close to $50 just to see a couple bands, you know?

Sodom tour everywhere in Europe but never in France.

I got the whole album.
It's really not as the oldies like "Welcome to hell", "Black metal" etc.
It's a bit more Judas Priest actually! Sound more Heavy metal than... Black metal. If i say so. Less raw.
But it's still good as fukk, especially songs like "Antechrist", "Regé sathanas" and "burn in hell".

It sounds like Venom always has sounded like. Just a little bit more - as foretold - heavy metal.

My favorite SODOM album is "In the sign of evil". Fucking incredible EP.
Can't get enough of that song called "Blasphemer"!

In Toronto there is only one main promoter for large scaled tours, and they are normally around $50 to see if you pay at the door. If you buy your ticket threw ticketmaster then you are looking at around $40.

No, it's a normal club, nothing special.

There is $10 shows in Toronto, but this is a different promoter that actually gives a fuck about the local bands etc.

it's still more expensive than here, but actually not that much. a few years ago tickets for a standard club gig (1,500 people) were often around 15 EUR, and before we had the euro it could even be 50 or 60 FRF. today, tickets are something between 20 and 25 EUR. for a larger/better venue, fees almost double.

yes indeed he does as Toronto is a big fucking city (3 1/2 million) and there is only one main metal show promoter. He books all the bigger name bands and normally charges at least $40 at the door.

I avoid these shows.

Luckley enough there is a couple underground show promoters that throw $5-$10 shows, and sometimes they even book bigger name bands from out of the province and charge around the same price. Also, they support all the local metal bands which is very cool.
