PostSubject: Canadian thrash metal (dead and forgotten?)   Canadian thrash metal (dead and forgotten?) EmptyMon 4 Dec - 13:26

Ok I was just browsing on myspace and noticed that most of the retro thrash bands now have links to the 1980s Canadian thrash metal bands....but it seems to me most of these same Canadian thrash metal bands were long forgotten as they are from the tape trading era. Now they are being worshipped again world wide? Shocked

Here's my all time top 5 Canadian thrash metal bands:

1.PILEDRIVER
2.RAZOR
3.WITCHES HAMMER
4.SLAUGHTER
5.MANIAC

Trends come and go as a strong fart in the wind...

I never heard WITCHES HAMMER though, how do they sound like?

Around 1996-98 there was also a retro thrash phenomenon, but it wasn't thaaat important... Maybe the web helped to make this new wind bigger...

pisses me off when i read on some 2 months old band's myspace 'we are
gonna put canada on the metal map!' or something along those lines..
god damn do your homework, then you may speak. Canadian thrash metal (dead and forgotten?) 766486

personally, i think canada has one of the best metal scenes in the
world. in the 80s we had our thrash, in the 90s our death, and last few
years we have our black age. the only thing we dont have much of is
folk metal, but now at least there is something, unlike when we had y
draig goch going; we were the only folk metal band west of quebec at
the time..

canada rules. *hums the anthem while smoking a spliff and having a beer*

yes.. along with countless others ie: dbc, cryptopsy, kataklysm,
martyr, anvil, razor, and even into eternity. theres not many countries
that have such long lasting, varied, and productive scenes.

Like MOTLEY CRUE, they claim to not even remember being made to dress as female skanks during their real crazy drug induced era.. Shocked

EXCITER and RAZOR sure did look humerous as well back then, but nothing can beat INFERNAL MAJESTYS look What a Face
