Album Artwork

How important is decent album artwork when you consider listening to a band for the first time?

I think if a band has uninteresting artwork, I maybe inclined to thinking they may have uninteresting music. Most of the time, it is hard to fuck up artwork. But their are many, many examples of really bad album covers.

Back in the early 90s before I ever used the internet I used to judge art work for sure....the more brutal the art work the more interested I was which lead me to getting into death metal, wihout any downloads threw the 90's...and tape trading as well ov corpse
