Where have all the good bands from Eastern Europe gone?

Poland seems to have a few decent bands, Greece as well, but beyond that, not much else....

And what would be the reason for the dissapearance? All the Pagan pride black metal bands (Nockturno Mortem Sleep )? Or the lazy gore-grind ones? Or maybe since the fall of the Iron Curtain, they've all discovered Abba and the Beegees, and want to incorperate more disco beats into their music?!?

And has there EVER been a good band from Turkey....? (I heard some Pentagram, thinking it would be like the US or Chilean ones, but it was terrible! Like fucking Lordi!)

but how long before the Black Metal trend vanishes there as well? (It seems now that there are less and less of the bedroom Black Metal bands springing up - certainly in the UK, and it seems that the Thrashing stuff is more popular now....)

It's like looking at the old maps of how the Black Death spread in the 14th Century, except now it's Black metal..... Hopefully the plague will end soon!

(and then all the stage-diving, baseball caps and surfer shorts disease will start again!!!)

russia and ukraine have some good stuff.
ambivalence were good in their demo days (dunno what they sound like now).. fuck shit up are quite good. merlin is good, despite the name.. some really brutal death with female vocalist. nosferatos is a very good death/black mixture..
but yeah, its mostly black and folk over there.
