Mailorders and distros: Any use at all?

According to the slow and low sales, to the efforts it takes to sell the stuffs you got in stock, are distros and mailorders usefull in 2008? After all peoples might as well click some blogs and get Mp3s in few minutes...
I have in mind the underground distros that don't stock only famous or quite easy-to-sell items, obviously...

Of course distros & mailorders have their place!!! I think some people find an excitement in dissecting distro lists looking for the underground jewel. It sometimes happen I download some shit but I often get the original right after if I got pleased.
I guess the major problem is the overcrowded lists with tons of stuff. Who can afford to buy all the new shit going out, getting all the demos released all over the world, etc...
You have to be picky for sure....

My computer speakers are broken, so I can't listen to mp3s at the moment!

I'll only download things from old bands or ones that are split up (NWOBHM blogs save me lots of money!!!) and then buy new demos from distros.

So if I didn't buy from distros, I'd be limited to only old bands, and become one of those fuckers whinging about the lack of good music these days even if I wasn't born in the 70's....

SFM suffers a severe lack of orders which is sad as its safe to say that there isn't many distros like us left in the underground....Actually only a select few that don't carry famous releases to get orders.....These days I refrain from buying pro cds and stick to supporting underground demos both cdrs and tapes.......I get maybe a couple orders a month which is quite sad....so you guys know what you should do then

One thing I can't understand, all these oldies will tell you that 'all the best bands recorded their best material during their demo days. Once they recorded their albums, everything went downhill afterwards.....'

Yet why is it people are so reluctant to buy NEW demos? (It'll save alot of money if you buy them now, rather than ion 15 years time once they go for 50 euros or more on Ebay! Find the kult bands of tommorow, TODAY!!!)

I guess the 'bedroom blaaagchk metal sindrome' at the start of the millenium might have something to do with it. But again, there don't seem as many Black metal bands around anymore.

In Canada man- I figure theres at least twice or maybe even 3 times the amount of black metal bands over death metal, serious.

If you loook on myspace- the list just never ends of Canadian black metal bands hehe...and alot of em FUCKING SUKK ass but hey, we do have some great long running ones here as well.

I have a demo tape I HIGHLY recommened you and so would Gab I think....MALARIA "Mass Graves" demo tape- great fukkin grind war from Toronto ala Repulsion/Carcass.

I dont have a ACTUAL real bank account either man! I use a grocery store card as it has no hidden-fees like major banks do. It is a part of a major bank branch so it might work, i'm not sure.

I can't figure it out man...I've adjusted my browser settings over n over again and it wont acesss. I can get onto the palpal uk site but not .com site

I think I need to go to a internet cafe and set up a account as this laptop doesn't like paypal for some reason.
