NIHILIST - Demos comp. : excellent stuff, even better than first ENTOMBED assaults... More crude and putrid, huge influence of crust punk on the first demo... I very like this, this is for me the best releases in Sweden death metal with the first album of GRAVE... I ordered this CD, but rarely listen to it... Because Left hand path rules much more and has a better sound! Maybe I already knew all these songs too well from "Left hand path", so the impact couldn't be the same... But again... _______________________ Cadaveric ringtones for free, just click: http://nihilistic-webzine-distro.fr

| Yes, it is possible... of course the sound on Left Hand Path is better, but I very like the rawness of the NIHILIST demos, especially Only Shred Remains... Well I guess it is a matter of taste but you and I will agree that recorded by ENTOMBED or NIHILIST this is ultra great death metal assault anyway, he he !
Currently listening to EXMORTEM - Dejected in Obscurity. Not bad, reminds me of PANZERCHRIST for example. good stuff, not what I prefer but decent.

| Currently listening : IGNIVOMOUS - Death Transmutation
excellent death metal assault. I think their main influences are INCANTATION (early records, especially Mortal Throne of Nazarene) and IMMOLATION. This album is awesomely crushing and some suffocating parts are totally killer. I think this record and the DENIAL album were the best death metal assaults of this year... Intense and brutal record !!!
I also listened to IMMOLATION - Here in After, for I long time I was only into Dawn of Possession but more and more I think this one is better, more complex, darker, and very massive...

| Napalm Death - Scum scum scum
The Ignivomous album really is a big improvement from the EP. The production on Eroded Salvation seemed really flat for whatever reason.
I may have to give Denial another listen, I didn't make much of their first EP.

| Mmmh I don't agree, yes the prudction on the EP of IGNIVOMOUS is rawer but still decent IMO.
I liked the EP of DENIAL but the music is very more complex and deep in the album. You should really listen to it, it's a marvellous record.
Scum from NAPALM DEATH is totally killer, both sides have a different approach and both are great. And Nick Bullen is an awesome vocalist, his growls are deep and cavernous as fuck.
Yesterday I was listening to NAPALM DEATH - Harmony Corruption and I like this record, Barney's vocals kill and they slowed down but more viciousness in the music. They ruled a lot at this time, this was great death metal ! There is the Mentally Murdered EP on this release as hidden bonus tracks, I love !!! Awesome sound, and music somewhere between death metal and grindcore like on FETO (especially the drums), the vocals of Lee Dorrian are totally FEROCIOUS!!!! Like on the Peel Sessions where he was just terrifying.

| currently listening to SUFFOCATION - Effigy of the Forgotten.
Argh they weren't as technical as they were on Breeding the Spawn but the mix is better and even at this time they were very skilled and their songs are awesomely brutal and oppressing. A masterpiece for every real death metal maniac.
I very like how these songs were recorded on Human Waste, the sound was less compact, it is interesting too, rawer.

Awesomely brutal technical death metal. Incredible drummer !!!! I wish the production and drum sounds weren't a little heavier/ with more bass frequencies. Strangely I don't get that much into the 2nd one, maybe because the production is "more more" or because there's not the same atmosphere...? _______________________ Cadaveric ringtones for free, just click: http://nihilistic-webzine-distro.fr
