BUT, say they send their stuff first, and then say that your stuff never arrived, so then you re-send your stuff, and they get a 2-4-1 trade?

but most of the rip off from there won't bother sending something!
All they want is to receive free stuffs!

The problem you had was maybe a coincidence... (You can't be sure he received your package 2 times, maybe it was really lost)

Who did you have a problem with in Chile?
I know few tape-labels from there, and it worked Ok.

Your right, coincidences can occur in many situations.

On another note, some postal services from other countrys can be ripp off's themselves, esp. when sending well hidden money.

Not a label, a band. Maybe he really didn't recieve my stuff, but here's the part that made me wonder.

I sent him X6 Paganfire cdrs vs x6 cdrs of his band.

Then he expects me to send him x3 worship satan zines with his band reviewed in it, and was kind of pushy about it.

So I'm not going to send him the zines, but I did review his cdr only because I am nice, I guess.

No trade was set for the zines, he expected 3 free copies of the zine for whatever reason, not thinking that they cost me at least $5 each to print and then send out of the country each. That's alot of money!!

Did you already send your package again?
I mean: Does he consider the zines as an extra bonus, or does he want the zines instead of the lost package?

I have yet to resend the cdrs and he wanted the zines as a extra bonus I guess. So he still isn't getting the zines from me

Well, I don't see any reason for you to send the zines just as a bonus, especially since it costs fucking postal costs to send it!

So keep the zines for your customers

What bothers me is bands not realizing that I am doing them a favour by reviewing their material of any format, and I guarntee that I will print it as well and email the said band/label the review. Sending out free zines to everyone that sends me a promo is way too fucking expensive!! Esp if a band sends me a cdr, and then expect a 30 page zine in return, that is not a fair trade in many ways!!

For the labels that send me nice promo packs, I send them a free copy of the zine cause they have the true metal spirit and has interest with me even thou I am a small fuckin zine

If we follow the state of mind of some bands... Maybe I should burn my webzine on a CDr and then send it to them... who knows?

hahahaa no kidding man!! Sometimes I believe that I shouldn't even bother reviewing cdrs that are sent to me for review, without any info, song titles or even a photocopy of the cd's artwork. But I still do anyways for now, but soon this might change.

I almost receive no promos... I do a lot of trades, so there are already too much stuffs to listen!
I happen to download quite a lot of Mp3s, and review the stuffs that kick my ass!

I voluntary don't receive promos from labels... They send too much stuffs, and stuffs I don't want to listen or that do not fit... I don't run a promotional petzine!!!

I like being on some labels promo lists such as IRON FIST RECORDS, HELLS HEADBANGERS, CARNAL RECORDS, BLACKENED MOON RECORDS, AUTOPSY KITCHEN RECORDS , BLOODBUCKET PRODUCTIONS to name a few. But some labels send me shit that I don't even know how to review, as you will see in issue #1 when you look at the reviews haha

Well, I over abused the pleasures of promo stuffs, so that's all for me.

When I was running a paper zine in 98-99... I was receiving new stuffs almost everydays! Flyers worked really well then :rireee:
Now I'm afraid of the promotional societies working for several labels... They send so much stuffs... I even received some progressive pop rock... Ultra melodic doom whatever... Well... ???

I don't mind getting promos in almost everyday, but it does get overwhelming sometimes!! Esp. if I don't really like the demo/cd ect I am reviewing, as I listen to everything at least twice before I write down my thoughts, to me more fair.


About flyers, your right. Less people do reply to them these days it seems, and less people spread them as well. I'm still a flyer junkie and try and encourage people to send them to me in lots of hundreds if they desire!! More flyers the better!! I've been sending out a shitload with copies of the zine.

Great columns Gab. I liked the flyer one and the glueing stamps one. I'm a hardcore stamp returner but only one of my contacts wants his stamps back, which is odd.

I've only been caught a couple times last year, all the post office did was returned my letters and put a sticker on the envelope saying that "stamps have allready been used" or something like that.

But yeah, they are probally more concerned about people sending anthrax or bombs these days then broke metalheads cheating the stamp system haha


Man, I glue sooo many stamps my arm is covered in glue right now haha
