METAL ARCHIVES: Find similar artists in a style you like!

There’s a nice feature on Metal Archives were you can find Similar artists. It helped me to discover/ remember some old NWOBHM bands for example.

You can also help promote some bands you like, if you vote for similar artists. The more votes a band has, the upper it will appear in the list of similar artists.

To find it, on a band page click the “similar artist” menu next to “Reviews”, then you see the list.

When a similar band doesn’t appear in the list, you need to add it manually (Click “Add”, type the band name, click search, then click the validation icon on the right)… It will appear only after being manually added 3 times.

For example, for the Costa-Rican Death metal band PAZUZU, I voted for AUTOPSY and ANATOMIA, and I manually added GRAVE but it doesn’t appear yet (Not enough votes)

Another example, for the italian death metal band VALGRIND, I voted for Morbid Angel or Immolation which were already in the list.
