Lay down rotten

I discovered this band recently and it's very fuckin' good. LDR plays cool thrash/death metal.

BIO:

LAY DOWN ROTTEN was formed in 1999 as a solo-project of Daniel Jakobi. After the first songs were written he decided to work a little bit more on his project. Later he played his material to some musician friends who were amazed by the songs. So in May 2000 Timo Claas, Johannes Pitz and Daniel "Minni" Benner decided to join Daniel Jakobi to create a complete Band. LAY DOWN ROTTEN was born.

In November 2000 the first Demo CD "COLDER AS COLD" was recorded. This contained 4 tracks and received very good reactions.

In July 2001 they began to record the second Demo CD "WAY OF WEAKNESS". Because this one also was recorded by their own, they took themselves 4 months for production.

Because all the releases so far and the concerts (e.g. with Reaper, Burden Of Grief, Fall Of Serenity, Meatknife, Death Reality) received very good reactions they wrote more songs in 2002. Unfortunately this year the needed budget to record the songs was missing. So they rehearsed even more and spared as much money as possible.

In April 2003 the waiting was over and the Desert-Inn Studio in Edingen was entered to record the debut album "PARALYZED BY FEAR" within two weeks.

After this album was released via Remission Records in October 2003, the band hit the road in spring 2004 with Meatknife and Gorezone. This "GRIND'M'ALL"-Tour led the band through Germany on 10 Dates.

Shortly after the Tour they decided to take Jost Kleinert in the band as a second singer, especially to support Daniel Jakobi on stage and to give the audience a better performance.

After Jost was integrated in the band without any problems, they concentrated again on the songwriting for the second album "COLD CONSTRUCTED" which was recorded again at the Desert-Inn Studio in July 2004.

The now present album shows the band from an much developed side as on the anyhow succesful debut.

"COLD CONSTRUCTED" is a hatestorm which will catapult the band into the upper-league of german melodic death metal.
