| In your opinion, what was the last awesome sickkfuck era/time frame/area for DEATH METAL?
When did death metal reach its ultimate high but still remained in the underground somewhat?
I'd have to say around the early 90's, but i'm also not too sure as there is hordes of good death metal bands popping up that don't get proper exposure or because they aren't on a so-called mega metal record label.
I really liked the stuff SUFFOCATION, OBITUARY, CARCASS, MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, HYPOCRISY n so on and so on released during this era... _______________________ SKULLFUCKINGMETAL DISTRO/LABEL. Canadian Extreme Metal & Experimental Noize Distribution: http://skullfuckingmetal.blogspot.com

| i dont like death metal (unless its live haha) as a rule. and most of what i do like has been released in the 00s.. stuff like lykathea aflame, misery index, cephalectomy (although theyve done stuff in the 90s), and lapidate. the only death metal album that was released pre-2000 that i can single out that i REALLY like it, is none so vile. so im gonna go ahead and say that death metal hit its peak.. 2-3 years ago. | |

| The cephalectomy/bound in human flesh split cd sure did tear my head clean off upon first listen...but the problem with kanadian death metal bands is they either go too commerical like Cryptopsy or Kataklysm and the good ones like Lapidate or Necropolis get swept under the carpet sadly enough. _______________________ SKULLFUCKINGMETAL DISTRO/LABEL. never heard that necropolis.. yeah, i noticed if its hard to get established, unless you are from quebec. look at cephalectomy, and lapidate. both amazing bands, and in lapidate's case also a MONSTER live and even signed to a serious label, but still.. hardly anyone knows them outside southern ontario! and on the other hand, look at all the bands sprouting from quebec, and ride that wave of qc scene. not to say that they suck (hell, they have amazing bm scene, and unexpect is wickedly awesome too), but as soon as band x is from quebec, people in bc know who they are. but then theres always maniacs who move away and infest their new surroundings. *cough*cough*.. im getting people into ontario metal here and they love it. :hailz: | |

| Either from the beginnings around '86, when it still had a thrashy touch to it, or by start of 90's when it started to become popular, so pushed the more insane bands to go further and deeper into the underground. | |
