CELTIC FROST Rejects Report Of Possible GRAMMY

CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has commented on a misleading report in the Swiss media that the group's track "Totengott" was nominated for a Grammy award in the "Best Metal Performance" category.

Said Fischer: "This is a typical case of exaggerated tabloid 'journalism.' The true core of the story is that CELTIC FROST have appeared on the list of suggested Grammy nominations. The actual nominees will eventually be downselected from this list.

"That is the story, no more and no less.

"Besides, I cannot for the life of me see why this band should receive such a ridiculous award and mingle with those I passionately hate. CELTIC FROST is about other things."


CELTIC FROST's video for "A Dying God Coming into Human Flesh", a song taken from their first album in 13 years, "Monotheist", can be viewed at this location. The fascinatingly gloomy clip was filmed by up-and-coming Swiss director Jessie Fischer (no relation to singer/guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer) in Zurich, Switzerland, in mid-August 2006.

Absolutley....I've never even listened to METAL BLACK because if you have to change around the words of your best epical release to throw at the retro-thrash kids to make some quick $$ then you suck in my books.....I liked RESURRECTION alot thou, very heavy memorial riffs etc ...I dunno....never really been a huge VENOM fan either, but AT WAR WITH SATAN, BLACK METAL and WELCOME TO HELL always turn my ears on....

MORBID TALES yeah was good.....but not as fuckin good as the critics say....there was MANY more better albums from that era that are dead and forgotten, lots being Canadian even

Oh fuck yea its true theses kids see the word venom course there going to pick up the new album but if they saw those's albums you mentioned they would not even bother giving them a listening too or buying them.

As for Morbid Tales yes was good at that time course there always was better making albums in the process. Fucking SLAUGHTER was one of thoses bands. Only if Chuck Schuldiner stuck around alitte bit more to help out with the album not just the demo bet it would have been one killer album to.

Miss albums by both fucking bands or aleast even split album with each other fuck that would be killer. Chuck only lived in Toronto for that one year though he's genious at work but he worked with them more i think slaughter would still playing shows.

Celtic frost did have a point of where they sucked, but they were never about movements or ideology.


Tom is possibly one of the only people in metal that i can willingly say that i respect. Even though he has made music that is not in my genre preference, he has never done anything to compromise who he is or the philosophies that he stands for.

He was, and will always be a huge influence on my own creations, not musically, but intellectually.
