Reviews and promotions: this zine needs two CDs!?

Well, even many small zines don't send the reviews... They probably don't have the time...

But yes, I think bigger zines just expect peoples to earch in their site.

Or they do have the time, they just don't care to email the reviews.

Speaking of bigger zines/labels....Osmose Records asked me to send them my zine for proof of existence (yeah i'm a fake after all these yeas lol) to be added to their promo list , and I emailed them a couple months later asking if my zine arrived to them, and they replied with this answer "NO".

I guess they didn't have interest in my zine.

Concerning OSMOSe, I don't know... They used to send me promos when I was doing a paper zine in 98-99... I think they might not have receive the zine, or might not be interested... It might be half chance for each possibility...

Who knows. I've been getting so many good promos from underground bands that are looking for labels, I'm not concerned about getting big name cds from big labels. Sure they are nice to review as well, but alot of the bands that are un-signed need the support more.

It's just if they did recieve my zine and aren't interested, they could at least tell me this so I don't waste $5 more re-sending my zine. You know?

Kinda like how i'm still waiting on Hellacaust's labels promo pack

Maybe they are not interested now,
but might be interested with issue 2, when the zine has improved... You might understand it that way...

True. But theres no way I am sending out almost $400 worth of promo zines (because of photocopy fees and high postage fees overseas) to be rejected by all these labels.

If they didn't have interest in issue #1 i'm sure issue #2 will not be of interest to them as well, as nothing really has changed besides more detailed reviews and twice as many more detailed interviews .

same style of zine, with no set "look I am cool, I'm a black metal zine" or "Look at me, I'm more dead then death metal" kind of attitude.

As I already said: The reviews from you issue 1 were really short!
And I guess very few labels would like to send a promo for only 1-2 lines.

Don't search anywhere else man, that's most probably why many didn't send promos!

Your right I think. Ahh well, issue #2 will have more detailed longer reviews, we all have to start somewhere and then progress from there.

yeah, sometimes it's funny cause i'll google and find a review from years ago of an old release that i never even knew existed. but not knowing if reviews are actually are ever done is something that crosses my mind.

but on the flipside i have made contacts with really cool people too who send me copies of the magazine it is in and even one guy sent me a cassette of his radio show he played it on!

haha man i really need to start checking my login status before posting, sometimes i am left logged on an sometimes not.
