I blame the internet. It's the same thing that kids now think they can pirate a copy of photoshop, get a deviantart account, and be an "artist." Great things can potentially be done digitally, but they aren't done often. Most of the time, people take somebody else's work or photo and put a fucking filter on it, and think it is a great piece of art. Fuck this shit. They spend 30 seconds putting on filters and think it's artistic.
But yeah, it's not the medium itself, it's the idiots using it badly. And the fact thatso many people on the internet seem to think craptastic digital stuff is art, leading people to make craptastic album covers in a similar way and they all look the same.
