| I've started writing up a few reviews/interviews for a shitty fanzine (hopefully done before the end of the year).
But I'm wondering, is it worth asking for tapes to be sent in for review? Obviously some fuckers will send stuff regardless, but it seems that older bangers have been driven insane by the amount of shit they recieve, to the point they lose some of the desire to go on (suicidal editors are shit!). I'm not wanting to get in the situation of having thousands of crap CDrs, but is it neccesary to have them to get a different direction of reviews? At the moment the ones I've done are maybe a little blinkered towards a certain slyle...... or is this what makes it your own.
+ when would be a good cut off date for reviews (I'm going for about 2003/4 release date or more, largely cus most of my stuff is from this period!) and way too much stuff to review (hopefully 100 +).
I'm obviously going to do what the fukk I want, but opinions from those experianced in the area would be apprciated (first issues are always shit :lol!: ).

| I got bombarded with shitty ass cdrs and it really frustrated me as trying to write a proper review takes quite a bit of time and the correct mindset.
For my first issue I just rushed threw the reviews.
For latter reviews intended for issue #2, I took my time and reviewed stuffs after several weeks of listening.
Pro full length cds are a pain in the ass to review as they are longer.
I found that the easiest stuff to review is demo tapes. 4 tracks is good enough to pass a judgement on the bands efforts. 8-12 songs can be too much and too overwhelming after a while.
Shitty cdrs are just that, shit. Is it really worth your time to waste on promoting a shitty ass bands crappy cdr release? I don't think so :lol!:

I don't think so :lol!: I'm probably not doing to many Pro LP/CD, and most are reissues of earlier demos, so hopefully are already familiar (probably not in UK though.... ) I guess its a learning process, though I'm trying to give more the 'atmosphere' and feeling of the release, rather than review each track individually. The biggest problem I'm finding is for the really good demos (Nocturnal Graves! AAARGH! My brains bleed :execution: ) or the more individual sounding bands (Rammer, what is it ?!? Whiplash/Coroner/ Death?!?! How can you describe something that sounds different (without going into poncy meaningless words (the wind is my nasel, hold by breasts for they yearn your blackend embrace!)?) My only hope is, because most stuff is fairly old (need to get of my lazy drunkerd ass and so something!) most will already be familiar with them.

RAMMER, hmmm....I'd say old styled thrash metal thatwill make you wanna mosh and loose brain cells getting right fuckin drunk while listening to them...Toronto's best thrash metal band with excellent riffing that all fans of old styled thrash will devoure. Rammer almost has a punk feeling to them attitude wise and are really nice guys
