BLACKMETAL PHILOSPHY #1

Another word on my feelings about Black Metal

You know, a few years ago I used to occasionally go to Punk festivals in summer, the music was generally awful, not too far away from Green Day and friends (perhaps a LITTLE bit more underground), but basically that kind of nonsense (though Napalm Death and Fliehende Stürme played at one). You don't go to these festivals for the music though, but for the general fun that comes with that funny little "scene", excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs, setting the toilets on fire, taking the festival area apart, that kind of thing. However, something I spotted on the festival area caught my (and my friends') attention. A store there was selling pre-made "Punk jackets". No joke. Leather jackets, already sprayed with the anarchy "A" and with spikes already in them. I was stunned about the audacity of it at the time, but it really shouldn't have surprised me, seeing those vast legions of self-proclaimed "Punks" with 100% evenly cut, carefully erected and painstakingly multi-coloured mohawks. That's how it works, like back in the early 90s when Grunge was popular, all stores selling crappy ripped up clothes that normally would have gone in the garbage, and those silly kids actually paid a lot of money for those "authentic Grunge clothes". The caricature of "underground" scene kids (using the example of Goths) in South Park really isn't all too far from the truth when you look at it. I know, I'm likely telling you what you already know, but it astonishes me every time I look at it. What does that have to do with Black Metal? Well, you figure it out. There are so many "authentic" Black Metal bands popping up everywhere these days, all going through all the trouble to appear as much in line with all Black Metal standards as possible. Look around in the scene, how many actual *characters* that actually stand out can you actually (ouch, triple word violation) spot? All you have is all the tidily conceptualized "too authentic to be authentic" types.

And you know what? I'm about two steps short of adding pink teddy bears to my profile, just to make sure that none of *their* fans buy any of *my* records. I do not cater to jokes.

Mago de Oz, Sonata Artica, Helloween and now you can picture it
There're a bunch of hermaphrodite kidz so Black Metal having "FOTOLOG.CUM" and "MYGAYSPACE.CUM" to spread their "UNJOLY" "ZATANIK" massage NUKE THEM !
They just go to fucking stores in order to dress up or wear a fashion or trend of the moment ... and the current trend is BLACK METAL even with some pussy touches of BRIT POP/ GOTHIC whatever, you know those gay shit like placebo and the likes.....

theres posers in every scene. someone who doesnt understand what the
music is about, and just thinks the clothing looks cool (or something
as ridiculous as that). and frankly, its fairly easy to be a
black metal poser, all you need is 150 bucks, and you are set. buy
yourself some leather/army boots, black pants, and a
mayhem/immortal/emperor/burzum/darkthrone tshirt, maybe a bullet belt,
and you are set! its funny going to shows here, cause at every singly
show, half the people are wearing shit from the store i work at (we
sell army surplus, and similar shit.. including bullet betls, army
boots, camo shit..), and i just look at person X, and i know
immdediately, he spent 110 bucks in my store. Y spent 130. and so on..
but god damn.. bm is not about how you come dressed to a show. if you
truly understand the music, then it doesnt matter if you come in pink
stockings and a tux to a show. that actually applies to all metal i
think; not just bm..



gah im rambling now.. gonna go smoke.

Sometimes at shows I am seen wearinga t-shirt of the Canadian rock band "The Cult" just to piss them off, andits a tanktop so you can see all my crazy satanik tattoos :lol!:

theres this one black guy at every metal show here, and he looks like
your average college student (not the drug kind haha).. first time i
saw him, i was kinda surpsised.. like wtf is he doing at a metal show?
but i very soon found out hes the craziest mosher around here.. me and
him always start the pit at just about every show..

yeah.. one of the types has bullets falling out all the time.. and if
you get the other type, at least 5 people wear the same one at any show
here.. i think we are the only place in town that sells em..
