| Maniac is a definite milestone in American horror cinema and unlike a lot of 80's slasher films, it's aged pretty well. I recently watched The Prowler and ya know, despite all the hype, it left me pretty unimpressed. On the other hand Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer is fucking amazing. Nice fuckin' score on the tape there Keeg. I'm finding that there's a bit of a resurgance among horror collectors for VHS tapes (especially the oversized display boxes.) You'll probably get a kick (and perhaps find it useful) out of this site: http://critcononline.com/video_companies_cover_art.htm Ya gotta love the gawd fuckin' awful cover for American Video's release of Shock Waves | |

"Home Sweet Home" I just scored that on VHS, what a shitfest. Personally, I favour the oversized boxes...For some reason I call them "scummy boxes"...They take up alot of space but like a vinyl LP, they are fun too look at. I have approx. 50 of them now I believe. Ask Tery from the Argentos, Grant, when he stayed over he was having a blast going threw my horror collection and he saw only a fraction of it. I have The Prowler on DVD and paid quite a bit for it and was terribly let down.....Defintally overrated, I agree. Henry on the other hand is a twisted slasher flick, defintally killer! I watched one hell of a cheeze fest last night: _______________________ SKULLFUCKINGMETAL DISTRO/LABEL. Canadian Extreme Metal & Experimental Noize Distribution: http://skullfuckingmetal.blogspot.com

In case you ever have to deal with some unscrupulous dealer, those boxes are referred to as "display boxes". If you ever end up dealing with a vendor over the net always ask, is it a studio box, display box or a clamshell. If they don't know the differance that's a good indicator that you'll need to ask a lotta questions.

Hey, theres this great store in Toronto called "Sonic Boom" that specializes in used movies/music, they have a huge wall rammed full of used vhs tapes at around $3-$4 per movie, its fukkin killer! Lots of used DVD's as well for cheap. You'd have a blast there man, its like a fukkin warehouse it's so big, its crazy man! _______________________ SKULLFUCKINGMETAL DISTRO/LABEL. | Keeg, I have to see your vhs colelction one day. We should consider a trade or two. I have BLoODY BIRTHDAY in mint condition up for grabs - awesome, gory movie about three kids that were born during an eclipse and when they turn 10, it gets real bloody haha
Has anyone heard of these priceless gems: MICROWAVE MASSACRE EDGE OF AN AXE (EDGE OF THE AXE???) SUMMER CAMP MASSACRE (CAMPING DEL TERRORE) THE VIDEO DEAD (I used to have a copy)
and, most importantly,
BOOGEYMAN part 2 (1980, directed by Ulli Lommel). Why oh why did I sell that tape to a used cd shop? I have part 1 on dvd, if you like "scissors in the neck" type gore, you'll all dig it
@Rusty - that's a great site you recomemnded man, thanks
LOL at the Shockwaves cover, haha I could have done a better job..what was wrong with the original box art?

OK Great man! We have a trade then, thanks! I'll keep you posted! Man, I miss the old selection that Sam's had....Back in the day they sure did have quite a few oddball horror titles. The last movie I remember ever buying from Sam's was "The Ice Cream Man" on VHS for like $20....This was around 2001 or so . _______________________ SKULLFUCKINGMETAL DISTRO/LABEL. | I have the Midnight Video release of Microwave Massacre. No case though. Rhino video rereleased it sometime later. There is a DVD release of it through Anthem Pictures, but to be honest though, its a pretty bad movie.

Basically. It has a lot of "comedic" moments that are not even remotely funny.
